Broken Trail is an epic almost humorless Western that riveted me to my seat for 4 hours and made me glad to be alive in the softly softly 21st century.

Having missed great chunks of Hollywood history, due to itinerant behavior and lack of TV facilities for years at a time, I am no film critic, but I can spot a good flick. Just can't remember all the details, let alone the titles.

Of the films I do recall, there aren't too many that fit in the "Great" category. Rocky, Police Academy. Mission Impossible. Just wow!

Oh, did I say great films, I meant Crate.

Rocky blew the magic with way too many re-runs on the streets of Philadelphia, Police Academy had as many sequels as cops eat doughnuts, and Mission Impossible became Impossible for Tom Cruise not to prove he is the most vain man in Holywood (sic).

Seriously, Broken Trail is fantastic drama from really cool actors living and dying in the most stunning settings. And the Chinese slaves thread was a great twist.
