Moss man repulsed the Arabs

Mighty moss man

Is this quirky, or what? 7-foot tall, club swinging, this must have been one scary weed in battle. The Moss man was the last line of defence against the last Arab invasion of Spain - the historic one centuries before March 11th, 2004, that is. Horribly outnumbered, the Spanish decided to go back to nature and donned these leafy suits. With nerves of hardened steel, the volunteers stood perfectly still around the outskirts of the town and waited .

The Arabs were confident, heavily armed and well trained. They could almost taste the sweet scent of victory over a subjugated nation of garlic munchers. But as they neared the city wall, the undergrowth started to shuffle. A shuffle became a trot and a trot developed into a full head of screaming steam. The infidel Moss Men chased away the disbelieving Arabs, never to cede their land ever again. Well, until March 11th.
