Philly fall foliage mural
A snippet from a photo of a brilliant mural of mother nature in the autumn. When Philly photographer, Fen Branklin, took it, was he also thinking it could be construed as a tribute to deforestation in his great city?
"Look out the window, kids, that's what that plot looked like before they built that eyesore of a house on it."
And if the 65 degree temperatures persist this Fall, this scene may still be with us in February, in which case the mural also becomes a tribute to global warming.
That guy on a bike therefore needs a big round of applause for not polluting the environment and doing his bit to ensure that the leaves fall off the trees at the right time.
Of course, if he is unemployed and is pedalling around his neighborhood for grins rather than en route to finding a job, then he should get off his bike and do something useful for the community - like sweep the leaves off the sidewalks, when they eventually fall.
