The Tuscany Cafe on Rittenhouse Square is one of many wireless internet coffee house eateries to be found in Philadelphia. You sweep off the glitzy sidewalk, and glide down the ramp into the coffee shop. The first thing that strikes you, if you aren't careful, is a pillar. It may be obvious to most, but to blind or distracted galoots like me, it is right in the way.

The first cop leg-shooting incident of the week occurred when a policeman from Morris County, New Jersey, was putting his sidearm back into his holster after checking in a criminal. Somehow, against all the rules, the safety was off and he accidentally shot himself in the leg. He was given a big hug and told off for being silly.

As a tribute to Sunday, let's go introspective for just one holy minute there. Christians say there is only one way to get to the lord. Cool. The stocks and share picking scammers are getting really desparate. My junk filter has seen off most of their spam, but a new one got through today. If they could format a letter better, and hadn't called me Ruth, I may have been duped into reading the email more closely.

Two anecdotes from today's walk to the shops. One large female, smoking in her stationary executive car directs her young son at the kerbside. "Ready, honey, put the cones in the space when I pull out." (Like a good citizen? I don't think so.) If you want a guaranteed parking spot outside your house, lady, move to the country, or stomp up tens of thousands of dollars for your own garage.
