How to podcast for the rest of us

Look around the web for hints and tips on how to create a podcast and I bet they all say, get a good musician-quality microphone and a sound mixer and a wind shield and a ... What a load of twaddle. I bet Boing Boing have got all that equipment, and look what it did for them. Follow our 10 steps to podcast nirvana.
Step 1 - Turn on your 2002 Mac laptop, with no sound boxes, mike amps or tech know how whatsoever.
Step 2 - Select Audiorecorder - heebie freebieware. Press that record button
Step 3 - Talk like you mean it, with a happy heart.
Step 4 - Stop recording your drivel and save file.
Step 5 - Open file with Audacity, freebie number two
Step 6 - Select All and apply that roughty toughty Boost bass effect
Step 7 - Edit out breaks, ums and coughs.
Step 8 - Export as MP3 and add to your blog.
Only 8 steps, but if you want a real fancy audio extravaganza
Step 9 Add sound bites, remix and go mental in Garageband, iMovie or other.
Step 10 - Compress the full file into MP3 and become famous
