Random Encounters of We: update
Mar/07 Filed in: REoW
This is an update of blog, Random Encounters of We (REoW). Since the last time, it has become an overtly 2 person effort from hard-working team, Stefanie and hubbie. I say hard-working, because this is one of a stable of Randoms (Games and Super-heroes ) that they put together. Clearly they are versatile writers, plenty of interests and lots of curiosity.
The featured blog is a mix of tech and general, and it looks like the work load is shared in a traditional manner - the guy does the tech and money watch, the girl does the rest? I am no detective, but I deduce the girl wrote this Wicked post : all my sisters are coming to town for a couple days of celebration! We are going to do some scrapbooking, make cards, get pedicures, go out to eat.
And the guy triumphantly wrote: My rule for all the (charge card) applications that come in the mail is to march it right over to the shredder and teach it a lesson.
I enjoy their sense of humor, and although the posts aren't always engaging for a cynical bloke not into pedicures and scrap-booking, the standard of writing is good. There is also a regular stream of updates, ensuring that there is definitely something for everyone throughout the week.
For a blog, it is a compact and clean looker. However, I saw a post requesting tips for theme solutions in Firefox, which I presume refers to the Windows version. It is also no secret that we are Maccers here at The Pisstakers, and I am afraid to say there is a major issue with the site's styling in Safari. (Firefox is fine!) Maybe they need to invest some of the blog's income into employing a designer whizz to polish the code up?
There is a concerted effort to monetize the blog with Pay per all sorts of things. It also sounds as though they are doing a great job getting the word out, as their Technorati ranking is showing lots of link love. Stefanie is a bit of blogosphere activist, what with her involvenment in the Randoms, blog carnivals, a co-author at Blog About Your Blog, and a co-judge of an upcoming review competition at BAYB. Busy busy.
CSS details aside, REoW is a good blog to bookmark, and as long as they continue to write to the same high standards and keep their own personalities in everything they post, everything, including the pay per post ideas should pay off.
